The crash of metal,
the squeal of rubber on concrete,
the smash of flesh hitting glass
faded from the night,
I arrived, camera in hand.
The smoke cleared and I could see her,
slumped in the seat,
the life drained out.
I felt the ground shake
as the heavy footed medic
rolled the gurney past.
Blue lights glittered
in glass scattered
on blacktop.
White head lights
danced across her shattered face
frozen in a scream.
